Music in the Garden is a recurring event in support of emerging local musicians and artists featuring Summer Snowfall. Chicago based Summer Snowfall is an emerging ensemble breaking down the traditional molds of the “Jazz Quartet”. Composed of four instrumentalists from DePaul University, New England Conservatory of Music, and Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, Summer Snowfall's music merges their diverse backgrounds as improvisers with principles of free jazz, elements of classical music, and the tradition of bebop to dismantle not only the customary roles of their instruments, but also the idea that music must follow strict genres, form, and direction.
